Wayne Fogden is a fine art photographer who began his career working primarily in the editorial and advertising fields in Sydney. Turning professional in 2000, he specialized in travel, fashion and portraiture.
Wayne has worked for American Express, The Australian Financial Review, Wish Magazine, FHM UK, FHM Lithuania, Inside Sport, AMP, Kayser, Bonds, NRMA and Spring Court.
Now based in Melbourne, Wayne’s focus has shifted to non-commissioned work. Over the past 15 years he has had portfolios of his personal work published by The Ink Group and in such magazines as Qantas’ The Australian Way, Australian Traveller and Noise. He also travels extensively working for Getty Images and has been published worldwide from Mexico to Russia.
Wayne’s preferred subjects have evolved and now he has a predilection for the detailed beauty of flowers, cities at dusk, melancholy landscapes and most notably, the interaction of people and water.
The look of his photographs is unmistakable, in particular series with water as a thematic element. The large printed works are often mistaken for watercolour paintings, with subtle tones softly rendered by ambient light reflecting off the flowing water and illuminating people at play.
